Went on a camping trip with my son's cub scout den at Sky Meadows state park in Virginia.

After spending the night in our little tent, and shlepping all our camping gear back to the car, we went for a hike through the park, including a stretch of the Appalachian Trail.

Only a couple more of these camping trips, and then he'll be a boy scout and I won't be allowed to join him.

Griff - daughters grow up so quick it hurts. My oldest daughter turns 19 at the end of the month.

Glat - Looking good. I hope he stays active in Scouts. I got my Eagle in 1976. I'm still proud of it

Not me, but decended from me....and not rfn, but today, at least. Disc golf at french creek park today. I suck at it, but I'm better than these two jokers.

Oh, glatt.

Not true. I don't know how the do it back east, but out here, we (our troop) welcomes dads. Someone's got to drive. Someone's got to buy the stuff, etc. We have a boy-led troop, true, but they're not doing everything alone. It's not Lord of the Flies. Some of my trophy trips were with my sons on scout trips.

Blimey Jim. I still think of your bairns as kiddies. They must be teens by now.

Glatt - nice pic of the tie-dye top we saw being made!
He looks so tiny yet, but his genes predict a growth spurt in years to come.

Hope you're right. I'm hearing otherwise, but maybe it's just the one dad/one boy ratio that's changing, and it will be fewer dads.

I know I can take on a leadership role and be included, but I don't want to be a leader. I'm a pack treasurer now, and that's already more than I want to do.

This camping trip was another really good one.

Monster and Jim, nice pics!

Confidence and sunshine, and three more Dwellar-babies growing up.
What a lovely family photo.

That is a lovely family photo.

And those seats look pretty comfortable. All padded and shit.
