Puppets, bloody puppets!

OK, just the one. I mean to say, I did take the trouble to go all the way to Trafalgar Square to take it after all...

More here from the London event if you want....

Looks strangly familiar...

Same puppets were featured in the IotD a while ago weren't they? I'm in the middle of revision and so don't have time to find them (shouldn't really be on the Cellar in the first place, back to work in a minute).

Still pretty cool, wonder if they're doing a world tour?

You're dead right, Grazz, Last year around July time. Reason I discovered the Cellar as I caught the show when it was in Amiens as I cycled through towards the end of my annual cycling holiday. Found out as a result of some investigation that they were coming to London - originally planned for last September but the July bombs put the kibosh on that, and it was moved to this weekend.

Londoners seem to have been spellbound by it all judging from all the positive comments

Unfortunately, it was pretty low key news around the rest of the country. I only caught by accident, trawlin' the Beeb's news site.

It looks like it was pretty suscessful venture.... had I know in advance, i may well even have made the journey down from Cheshire.

As a footnote. I find it heartening that more and more UK cities are willing to sponsor public art in all its forms/

That was my only beef with the promoters, a company called Artichoke, they insisted that it had to have the surprise element, so they banned a pal of mine's site which deals with London events because he posted photos from the Nantes event last year, and they refused to give out any real information to the press until just a week before the event, then only a snippet.

People really only got to know about it on the first day and subsequent days as news spread via the public and the media. OK if you lived in or close to Lonodn, and hadn't arranged to do anything else, but a bit of a bummer if you lived too far away or had made other plans beforehand.

Let's hope they come back for a second trip - maybe with one of their other creations, and then maybe the publicity machine will be a little more active pre the event.

No one can fault the quality of their work - it was amazing. Just a shame that they restricted their potential audience so heavily.

That building in the background looks like Battersea Power Station which is a bit of a wasteland (no baron in sight though) and probably the ideal place to station the troupe before the show began. The same site was used by Cirque de Soleil a few jyears back when they pitched an enormous Big Top tent for their show.

Yes, they were using Battersea to practice, get the kinks out and the dust off.
