So, is it the overall density of information regaring whale penii that determines number one-ness for google? or could one just repeat whale penis a great number of times?

What on earth are the sites that are knocking us off the top spot doing to get there?

Google rates a site based on how many other sites link to it, and how many other sites link to those other sites.
