Very good.

For the bonus round would you like to guess the animal and bone?

You get to keep the steak knives and the living room furniture in addition to the car if you guess right. If you guess wrong then you will lose everything and also get a paper cut.

It's a visualization of life, holding together but mostly hollow.

I have to double check it and it is some where in the yard. At first I thought it was part of a deer's scapula, then I remembered I recently excavated a wood chuck, so it might be that.

I'll look for it tomorrow.

Found in an old barn, and I really don't know *what* it is.

All the parts move around freely.

I was about to guess a bit of some kind, but, I got nothing.

Popdigr also guessed some sort of tack/bit.

What size is it? Could it be a horse bit and the reins thread in through those fancy bits on the side?

Beauregaard, this page describes the item in question as "Just In Case (JIC) Driving Horse Bridle Bit -4.5" Mouth- Old Vintage Antique".

Fucking Pinterest, man.

Found searching "old bits for horses". Pic #3.

I found the piece and quizzed the kids and it turns out it is a piece of horse shoe crab shell that they brought back from the cape last summer.
