I've seen cameras for extreme sports people. One I saw had a head band so it would either go on your head (I think) like a head lamp or on a helmet. Seems to me, one of the selling points was that it could be attached to anything anywhere.

Yep. GoPro cameras have mounts for everything including the chest. The mtb sub-reddit is full of footage from them. Unbelievable picture quality in harsh conditions.
