I volunteer at the local PTO thrift store, and shop nearly every time I'm there. i also make regular tour off all the other stores.

In the last 14 days:

A cardi for me (free)
A shirt for Hector 50c
Some clothes hangers (free)
A game 50c
A golfing glove for hector 50c
Soccer cleats for a child of a friend of mine $1
Hockey gloves for Thor $1.50
Elbow pads for thor -$1-50
A little tin for Hebe 10c
A carabiner 10c
as new boots for thor 75c
a wooden snake-like toy 50c
A pink flamingo pinchy stick toy 50c
Swim Fins $2
foot pump for inflatables 50c

I probably forgot a few things. I hoard, I'm a total pack rat. the hockey gloves are the next size up for thor, but will act as spares plus you can guarantee that when i do need that size there won't be any available.......

Actually I'm Queen Elizabeth.

But that is a highly guarded family secret.

What do you buy second-hand?

Playboy and Penthouse. I prefer to describe them as "pre-loved".

Now that's what I call a 'sticky situation'!

I love thrift stores and yard sales too. I'll buy anything that looks good. Except underwear and socks. I've even bought shoes, but they were like-new. In fact I went thrift store shopping just last week and bought a bunch of skirts. I have a thing for wearing skirts lately! Two big bags of "new" clothes for $37 -- can't beat it!

oh I did buy some socker socks a couple of weeks ago for 50c. I figure their feet are so toxic after an hour of soccer they'll kill anything (and they were a cool color)
