Tiki Kon? Polynesians reached Americas ahead of Colombus

Thor Heyerdahl just had it bass-ackwards

Apparently, Polynesians reached the Americas in the 12th or 13th Century and not the other way around as Heyerdahl had conjectured. It will always be a cool adventure in my book, anyway.

There are also giant, unexplained stone sculptures of what appear to be African heads on the coast of Mexico.

No, silly. It was the Chinese who discovered America before Columbus. Those junks were very seaworthy compared to European vessels of the time.

It would be fairly easy for Orientals to ride the Japanese current along the coasts to North and South America. But coming East to West would be quite a feat, as is from the Orient or Polynesia to Hawaii. You can't miss the Americas but Hawaii is a damn small target.

The National Geographic link I posted before, and this site, I found this morning, show the consensus of the migrations.

The Vikings beat everybody here. Except the people that were already here.

Well, the Irish Monk was here 400 years before the vikings.
And the Clovis dudes that came from Europe 18k to 20k years back and most likely Asians before that.
But what difference does it make?

The Irish Monk is an interesting case. No hard evidence (that I know of) but generally no reason to doubt it either.

I hear this talk that they keep finding Roman coins all over this Continent as well. Depends on how they were found I guess.

We need to agree on who we stole it from.

It still doesn't make any difference, we took it from the Indians that were here when we got here. Anybody before them are moot. Does anybody in the world live on land that didn't belong to someone else in their history?

An awful lot of speculation, unsubstantiated theories and tall tales. There was always the possibility of a boat load of anybody blowing in from the East or West. Pretty hard to prove anybody was sailing back and forth with any regularity and control, except probably the Polynesians.
