I knew there was a hatch to get out the top of the head to check on those lightning rods, but I didn't realize how thin the concrete shell is. Look at it. Can't be more than a couple inches thick.

But isn't that just the skin? Surely there must be a steel armature holding it up. Maybe? Kinda? Sorta?

Ah, so it's a reinforced concrete structure inside, thanks.
Standing on the pedestal, on top of that mountain, it looks much taller than 100 feet. Makes my pucker clench just looking at the pictures.
