Pilau has a poorly paw....

Yes, that's right....Pilau has a poorly paw.
So everybody sympathise, all say 'Awww'.
He won't leave it alone, keeps licking it, then groans,
Now it's looking red and raw,
Pilau has poorly paw.

It started just the other day,
how it happened, he can't say.
I noticed he was limping and,
took his paw in my hand.

I saw a swollen, red little pad,
must have been hurting really bad.
It looked very sore,
Pilau has a poorly paw.

It happens from time to time,
usually in the Wintertime,
it never lasts long,
but it leaves him feeling all wrong.

So, no walk for Pilau today,
when he can go out again,
I'm really not sure,
Pilau has a poorly paw.

I pity poor Pilau with his poorly paw
Could he have done it in a fall?
Would he have the wherewithall
To try to mend his poorly paw?

Him a good dog, yes he is
Loves to walk, to take a whiz
Now what can poor Pilau do?
Perhaps he'll whiz right in your shoe.

Let us pray, come one, come all
To help heal Pilau's poorly paw
Lest we must take him to the Mall
And try to find Dog Anbesol.

Shawnee, you are a poet! and so kind. I just read your poem to Pilau and he appreciates your sympathy greatly. He also seemed very keen on the idea of whizzing in my shoe.....and that's less good.:P

Poor pumpkin-boy with the sore paw-paws!

I'm glad he enjoyed it. He looks so cuddle-up-able I want to reach through the computer and snuggle him! Hope he feels better soon.

He's got gout from stealing that sausage, doesn't he. No more rich foods for you, boy!

I hope he heals up soon.

Pilau is very heartened by all your kind words. He doesn't however see any connection between his sausagey exploits and his poorly paw. Whatcha gonna do, he's a dog, he doesn't understand karma :P
