Watercube or Wastecube?
Chinese media are drastically discussing if we need Olympic Watercube. Some people think the project is too expensive. Beijing need a long time to pay for it after Olympic game. Others believe that it is a nice design and would be a landmark in Beijing. The Beijing Olympic Committee decide to cut the cost by decrease the buliding height. If so, I don't know what it would be, Watercube or Wastecube? Any landmark is debated before it was built.

If they built it in England, it would be a huge drinking fountain with only one tap, no transport infrastructure to get people to it, it would cost £50 just to look at it and any MPs that had a say in it's design/construction would retire off the back-handers for the contractors. Then, after 6 months of arguing over the over-budget cost of it, they'd knock it down and build another millennium dome in it's place.

Wow, that's prettuy cool, Billy. Now the final selection is between an Aussie, American and Chinese Companies. That'll be interesting.
Roosta, chill. You're too young to be so cynical.

If they do it, I think it will look very impressive. Some of the design, however, seems to rely on technologies not yet fully formed ... which is probably not the best way to approach something that involves complex engineering.

wow.. that's really cool. I like it. can I get one for my yard?
really though, the whole olympic spending that goes along with the games I have usually found to be more wasteful than not ( I was living close to atlanta in '96) and for the most part everything they built was.. well as I said a waste, sure it made atlanta look cool in the eyes of the world... other than that it was a tremendous waste of taxpayer money.. .now the hookers for trying to get the winter olympics in salt lake.. now THAT was a stroke of genius!
