July 22, 2016: Big Chief Bagnell in repose

BBC Magazine features a guy who repairs the fiberglass giants from American Roadside history. These often (now) politically incorrect giants were used to entice roadtrippers to stop and spend money -especially on car repairs and gas, but also tourist "attractions".

Gravdigr, not sure that poor Chief Owmanose is from the Flathead tribe...their lands don't have much by way of flat horizons. Flatface tribe, however, is another story entirely .

I know a fella who used to live in Tombstone, Arizona and who would often dress in 'vintage wild west awesome' for fun. He had a friend who would do the same, and they got asked for photos A LOT when sitting in front of their favorite cigar shop (wooden chief included). If they weren't talking when tourists wandered up, they were sometimes mistaken for statues or animatronics; if they were talking it was often assumed they were actors hired to "Old West" the place up.

And I constantly get the titles mixed up, but I have seen like ALL the horror anthology movies. I love me some 'Old Chief Wood'nhead' from Creepshow 2 (although the part I find actually terrifying is that the rebellious young warrior grew up to be Detective Hagen on CSI: Miami).
