Yet another unintended consequence of the war on drugs. Since property is confiscated due to civil forfeiture, manufacturing moves to places that can't be forfeited - such as state and national forest land. Here you have an entire meth lab in a state forest.

What a joke.
Not just the whole meth lab, the war on drugs.
As a teenager, I have used various drugs (dope, Ecstasy) and have come across plenty more, its everywhere, its unstoppable, the market is saturated, I could get 10,000 99% pure ecstasy tablet tomorrow without a problem.

Soft drugs that are targeted by Governments (I mean dope, ecstasy, CLEAN acid etc) is just stupid. You need to look at the reasons people take different drugs.
Soft drugs are taken by average teenagers like to have a bit of fun, its nothing more serious in your book than drinking or smoking tobacco. These things are (for the most part) not additive and have (taken infrequently) no major long term health impact. I have read plenty of material about drugs, and their effects, and like many teenage, well informed about what’s safe and what’s not.
Hard drugs (cocaine, heroin, speed etc) are taken for different reason most of the time, like alcohol addiction they usually stem from other problems, family issues, depression etc. TREAT THE CAUSE OF HARD DRUG USE, NOT THE RESULT. Where there is demand, there will be supply, or have our politicians forgotten basic business rules? And don't forget, drugs are big business.

We need more counselors, not anti depressants, less works hours, more family time, more teachers, and closer attention by teachers, to keep the problems that lead kids to hard drug use.

Australia and Melbourne (where I live) are the Heroin death capitals, I know people who use thee drugs, I am talking from experience, not some $150,000 government hired consultant that looks at mindless statistics and suggests more pointless money wasting.

Legalize and tax heavily (like tobacco) the soft stuff, treat the social ills that cause the rest and you will cut drug deaths, related crime, addiction etc by over 90%.
