255,000 lbs? As in, a touch over a hundred tonnes?

I wouldn't doubt your word or your judgment as a scale tech, but its your typing I'm wondering about.

Oh and, oyyyy, that's kinda stuck. How powerful is your pick-up?

Well, it's got 16 of those solid metal cubes, plus the cart weight. According to wikipedia, "The density of steel varies based on the alloying constituents but usually ranges between 7,750 and 8,050 kg/m3 (484 and 503 lb/cu ft)"

They look like about 2.5 feet cubed to me, which is 15.6 cubic feet. So 15.6 x 16 x 503 = 125,750 pounds. Plus the weight of the cart.

Of course, I can't see anything to use as a frame of reference for size except that a man has to be able to stand on that grate on the left. So my 2.5 feet cubed estimate could be way off. And if the cubes are 3 feet, then that would bump us up to 217,296 pounds. Plus the cart.

Wait a second. It has 20 of those cubes, not 16. So that gets it up the the correct range easily. Sucker is heavy.

Hmmmyeahhh ....

I was originally seeing the top of the steering wheel as being about elbow height, and I was putting the blocks closer to 50 cm ( 1'8") meaning eight would make a cubic meter, giving two cubic meters of blocks. Even at eight tons per cubic meter, plus cart, we're still barely 20 tons.

But I am probably underestimating the size, and with cubic measures, errors magnify quickly. For example, if it were not half but one meter, we'd have 16 cubic meters, by eight tons is 120 tons - done.

but .. I don't think they look that big... maybe 60 cm ... ok 65...

So, 20 five ton cubes and a kick-ass cart.

And some idiot driving it across a gravel surface.

I kind of suck at estimating, but I would bet the rail wheels are for standard gauge rails (4 ft 8 1/2 in flange to flange). That would help get the width of the cart.

very good point.

There are no shots from the end, but you can see those rail wheels are set back a bit from the sides. So I'd guess it's about 3 of those blocks to fit between two rails, putting each at about 1.5 feet.

So how to move the thing to where you want it...

Balloons... How many and how big ?

Levers... How far away will you stand ?

Man power... How many men (Texans ? Russians ? Poles ?)

Woman power... only one required, but where's IM when you need her ?

Political power... call Adak for a hand-up
... No, wait, it was the Republicans that put it there in the first place
