February 16, 2012 - Toot your own horn

Dunno what this is other than the obvious.

Caption says "Nan Weidong – właściciel jedynej na świecie fletni z marchewek i szalotek, twórca wielu innych podatnych na gnicie instrumentów, wirtuoz gry na kamieniach, butelkach i rurach…"
which came through google translator as:
"Nan Weidong - the owner of the world's only flute with the carrots and shallots, creator of many other instruments are susceptible to rot, a virtuoso on the stones, bottles and pipes ..."

From here

Toot your root!

A tutor who tooted a root
Tried to tutor two tooters to toot
Said the two to the tutor
"Is it harder to toot
Or to tutor two tooters to toot?"

The carrot can be considered fruit in European Law due to the official definition of marmalade.

Because carrot marmalade (usually a slightly bitter orange jam - traditional breakfast toast topping here) is a Portuguese delicacy, the carrot needed to pass as a fruit to make the laws make sense.

Yeah. Like carrot as a fruit makes sense.

Like I told my mother when I was a kid, if I eat it, they'll still be starving.

I got hit for that.

That should be preserved somewhere.

Outstanding.

That's a new one on me.
I came out with the other classic response "Send it to them then!"
I think I got hit for that too.

A tutor who tooted a root
Tried to tutor two tooters to toot
Said the two to the tutor
"Is it harder to neuter
Or live your whole life as a fruit?

With apols to Infi, who I shamelessly stole from.
But I am a pedant and needed a proper limerick form before I could sleep.

I didn't write that tongue twister...it's as old as time.

Except for changing 'flute' to 'root.'

So I don't know what you mean by proper limerick form.

Yeah, not like pizza as a vegetable. Now THAT makes sense.

I made a cake out of pizza and bread and carrots and onions, and some leeks.

Sorry chick, I thought you'd made it up on the spot. My changes were to make it conform to a style it was never intended to be.

Works good though, huh?
