Dog's age

Evidently the 7 to 1, rule of thumb, has been refined.

Once again, people are (soylent) green.

I wonder on what basis this revision is made. Certainly it is relative to "human years" but I wonder if the change in people's (human people, people) life expectancy has been a factor in this new scale.

Ha! Great timing on this image. We are arranging for a petsitter for our 1 week trip in Sept, and on the way back from lunch today we were trying to calculate how long that would seem to to the dog.

I guess that would depend on how old the dog is.

Same applies to cats. Or at least the same principle of treating the early years differently.
I found this out when I was researching before getting my boys.
I'm comforted by it now, as it means Hely is a teenager while Diz is in his late20s - he will be able to charm her! Once she stops hissing I mean.

That means that my dog lived to be almost 100 years old, wich is a very old age by any standards.
