She leaves in the morning, and so happy to be gone ... we had a special dinner for her tonight, and it's the last time she'll see her grandfather (who lives with us). She's so happy about every aspect of her new situation. I hope it'll be everything she hopes for. If nothing else, she'll be guaranteed 360 days/year of sunshine, something she reminds us of. I'm sure I'll try to get out there to appreciate that. I had a great time in 2012.

Now, she's gone. I can't complain. Only hope that I'll see her again sometime.

Yes, like most parents, you do the best you can, then cringe while they make their own mistakes

But to be publicly humiliated when you're the one that did everything possible - to have that be your legacy after so many years - is hard.
Most of the general population realize these lawsuits are all about the money. How much the ambulance chasers can squeeze the insurance companies. Even the "victims" know it's a money game. If they smell more money they'll do it, but the sharks would rather grab the quick buck and not do all the work of preparing a case which will convince judge and jury.
So while it might be a blow to your professionalism, and your pride, I doubt it will be your legacy, you're much better than that.

She's leaving home. Isn't there a Beatles song for that?
