Sky Captain and World of Tomorrow

Has anyone else seen the trailer for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow? Even if the movie sucks I will have to go see it. I love that early techno industrial style of artwork. And it doesn't hurt that Gwyneth Paltrow looks really fine as the reporter.

It almost looks as if the actors were motion-captured and scanned in, but I heard it's all bluescreen. I guess it's some sort of video filter.

It looks wonderful, visually. Who knows if they'll bother with a story?

I had the same problem with The League of Distinguished Gentlemen. Great looks, average story, lackluster performances.

I love that stuff.

Two other films that sprang to mind when you said that are Metropolis and the animated satire on 1930's propoganda films, Pasta for War

Good stuff.
