Chelsea (NYC) tour continued

I was still drunk when I woke up Sunday morning, so I went for a walk to buy some gatorade and ended up taking about 100 photos. Twas fun times, indeed.

Anyway, this installment is of some stuff in Chelsea and along the Hudson River. Enjoy (sorry so many images, but I just wanted to share!).

The Maritime Hotel, where I once partied with the Bush twins.

I've always really liked the sign for this building, even though I have no idea what it says. Reminds me of a glass elevator shaft crumbling in an earthquake.

A lovely mural for ... I dunno.

Good restaurant, classic-looking NYC street scene.

I'm not sure what this building is, but I believe a church congregation uses part of it.

Along the side of the building.

Just across the street, New York looks beautiful.

I love the different colors. Wish I had a wide angle so I could get a better perspective.

More colors.

These sculptures look like giant butt plugs.

This playground just a block from the Hudson had some really weird contraptions for the kids.

There's something really vivid about this picture.

Kids at the basketball court.

This is the walkway to The Frying Pan, this great bar on a Hudson River dock.

Doubles as a kayak launch area.

I set the white balance/exposure comp to preserve the water's color - but I forgot how gross the Hudson really is.

This is Gregory Colbert's <A HREF="http://www.ashesandsnow.org">"Nomadic Museum"</A>. It's built out of shipping containers and I hear the structure far outdoes his photographs (he's the guy who takes pictures of people with elephants).

(Btw, major babe alert - bottom right, white shirt, sunglasses. I'm glad she stuck around long enough for me to get her in the shot.)

I haven't seen it yet (it closes next weekend!) and this is why:
