Wet iPod
So, this morning, I'm changing the laundry over, and find Spencer's iPod nano in his sweatpants pocket.
I tried to turn it on and it did nothing. Then I plugged it into the wall charger. nothing. I'm telling you this because those two actions are the WRONG THING TO DO. After doing a little research, I see the advice to set it to the 'hold' setting, DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON and immerse it in dry uncooked rice or silica gel packs. leave it for 3-7 days before attempting to turn it on. I'll let you know how this works out.

Yep, always take the battery out right away if you can (can't with ipods, just turn it off).

So plugging it into the mains isn't the right thing to do when your Ipod's been waterlogged? Who'd have thunk it?

Yea, don't want to run current through that stuff till it's dry. Plugging it in is a bad thing.

Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
Oh yea, Jimbo pulled out the big one. I know every line in that movie.

lol
That reminds me of some stuff me and mates used to do when we were younger, my ex too. Acting out scenes, ad libbing. Just seeing how people respond. Wifebeaters, junkies asking for a light, foreign exchange students trying to find the library etc etc. Mad rows in cafes. Ahhh. Fun times. |

update:
a few days after i put the ipod in rice, my son took it upon himself (he confessed this on sunday when he saw that i was inspecting it for progress)to remove it and see what progress had been made..... he discovered that it had been set to the 'hold' position...assumed I had done this by accident, and changed it to unlocked.....then he tried to tun it on again.......said it made a 'weird' sound...like when he turns the guitar amp on.......and then did it nothing, so he put it back..... sigh. I put it back in the rice for another week. It still has a bit of condensation under the glass, but, with nothing to lose, tonight i decided to plug it into the charger again and see if it would do anything. lo and behold.....the little white apple appeared! It kept blinking off and coming back, so I hit the reset combo of (O) and > and then it switched over to 'OK to disconnect' but the little charging icon is blinking! I'll see if it works in the morning, i guess! woo hoo, i hope!
