Hmm, not sure if this was the correct place for this. Let me formally invite you to Tennessee this weekend. For all of your Clothing, Computer & School Supplies... No Tax is included on the referenced items. Unless you purchase a single piece of clothing that is $100 or over. You can purchase as much (clothes) as you want and not pay taxes. Also, computers up to $1500.00 are tax free. Not sure what most of your tax rates are, but ours is 9.25%. So it can be a big help.

Hey, Virginia's having that too today. But only on back to school stuff. No buying a tax free car. It's a good idea.

Missouri's is today and tomorrow, and is similar to TN's. Our base sales tax is like 7%, but the municipalities can raise it higher. In the City of St. Louis, I think we're at 7.5%.

I don't know exactly when New York's happens, but saving the 8.625% is nice. Get this, though - on this year's income tax return they expected us to report some of it (a specific time period) and pay the tax at that time. Um, doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose? Duh!

Ours is this weekend. It is 4 days long and ends today. I don't really see the value in it, you don't save that much unless you are buying big.

In Pennsylvania tax free shopping day is called "taking a road trip to Delaware."

Clothing, shoes, and non-luxury foods are already non-taxable. Regular state sales tax is 6%.

Thats why I love where I live. I'm literally walking distance to DE where virtually nothing is taxed! With Target, Lowes and a mall less than a 5 minute drive away, over shopping can be very dangerous.
