Not only that, but he's head of an organization that does not allow its leadership to reproduce.

I haven't seen the Church doing anything to protect God's creation.
I see plenty of large cars with only the driver as occupant with their little Christian fish symbol on. Oi, Christian! Pick up a passenger if you want to drive a big car!

Also how are you protecting creation if you encourage your followers to squeeze out as many babies as possible until they are as exhausted as their resources? Queers and dykes and heretics like me are the ones who are saving the planet by not adding to the burden.

Miserable old codger. Him and his made up fairy stories polluting real humanity. I almost wish I hadn't read this as it's put me right off going to Mass on Christmas Day. Go to sit with all the breeders knowing they believe this narrow-minded man. Bleurgh.

I miss John-Paul.

The way I look at it, Pope Benny-16 is taking the Roman Catholic Church back to being actually Catholic. Repeal Vatican II!

You just say that because it's no fun being a recovering Catholic if there's nothing to recover from.

The reason priests in the Catholic church can no longer procreate (Yes, they once were allowed to) is that they resultant families are a financial liability to the church. The reason lay members of the church are encouraged to procreate is that the resultant families are a financial asset to the church. Transgendered and gay couples do not have a real strong track record for squirting out endless tithers, nor are they the type, as demonstrated by their against the grain lifestyle, who tend to blindly obey. So fuck 'em, the church can do well without 10% of the population.

Everything else is window dressing.

As noted in another thread it is all about the money.

Oh, and merry Christmas.

They're efforting that around here, since the local Bishop is apparently running for Arch-Bishop. He's set on driving the remaining moderates out of the Church. I think he will be successful.

Thank you. Truly, if you look at just about anything long enough, you'll find that it really is about the money. That's all, just the money.
