Hullo, gents. Welcome.

Since it's necessary to turn nearly every thread here into a discussion of food/beverage ...

Why do you guys drink your beer warm? What's up with that??

Whisky without ice I totally appreciate ... but why beer without chill?

We don't have all beer warm, only real ales and the like, which are meant to be served at room temperature.
Across the Atlantic, I believe you mainly drink lager, which is meant to be served cold, as we serve it.

Ignorant American.

(My dad asked Remco the same thing; he told him that it was really just a rumor, that Germans appreciated cold beer just as much as everyone else, and basically what Joth just said.)

Greetings from the other side of the planet [Seattle]! I'm a fan of the British-English spelling of certain words: armour, colour, etc. Don't use them myself. I don't think I'd enjoy a room-temperature ale, but I'd have to try it first. Refrigerators, Lucas electrics; there's a joke in there somewhere.

Hitting anyone with the term "You Americans" is really ignorant. You're going to find a great diversity of opinions and beliefs, and I think that next election, a village in Texas will regain its idiot.

It doesn't necessarily imply ignorance. Just convenience.

Hi Brits!

I'm actually a hybrid, my Dad and his siblings were born in Manchester, my mom's side is American. I've been back and forth to England quite a number of times, lived there quite a few years, just south of Peterborough, actually, in Huntingdonshire, which is between Pboro and Cambridge. (Actually, lived near RAF Alconbury, which is in Great Stuckely, which is where John Major, former PM lives.)

Just down the road a bit was the village of Stilton, home of the Bleu Cheese of the same name.

And I support Manchester United, even though I'm ridiculed for it.

THough, AFAIK, it isn't produced much there anymore.

You know, they're coming to the States soon for a few friendlies, including 2 in our neck of the woods (Philadelphia and East Rutherford, NJ). But if Beckham is sold before then, that will suck.
