When we find Osama: capture or kill on sight...

We caught Saddam and took obvious steps to keep him alive for the people of Iraq to deal with. I believe a trial of Saddam can be successful but think some international (or at least some "Arab world") oversight would probably be a good idea just to add some credibilty to the process.

On the matter of Osama, however, I predict that there will be no capture. I speculate that the moment he is found, he will be killed immediately and 'Hoffa'ized with the entire operation remaining a tightly guarded secret. It is also not altogether unlikely that whoever tips us off as to his whereabouts might also meet a similar fate just to keep the loose ends to a minimum.

I just can't see a trial of Osama working at any level in any jurisdiction.

I'd give anything to see the look in his chickenshit eye in that frozen moment between when he looks down and sees the laser sights all over his chest and when his head explodes in a sea of blood and scalding hot lead.

Hey, we might not have a health system but when its time to kick some terrorist ass, who YOU gonna call? :p

Eeeeew! I'll pass -- I'm trying to eat breakfast, here.

I haven't been paying too much attention to the news here in the past couple weeks except for major stuff. Is there any indication that Osama is still alive? I was beginning to wager that he's been dead for quite awhile, now.

Sounds like those laser sights need recalibration badly.

while osama is not as much of a martyr-risk to kill as hussein, i would think that we'd still try to act as if we were doing the right thing and "try" him.

and THEN kill him.

fair and square.

Folks, this guy is dead already. Pretty hard to be on the lam when you need kidney dialysis. I'm sure they squirreled him away deep in an Afgan cave when he kicked the bucket.

I'm hoping one day someone lifts up a big rock and finds his flattened corpse.

However, on the off chance he is captured alive, I suggest the following punishment.

1: Lard enama. Then sew his anus shut.

2: Tie to post, have many naked women of various sizes, shapes and colors dance around him, screaming, chanting and otherwise scaring the crap out of him.

3: Execution by firing squad. Be sure to coat those bullets with some nice lard before firing.

4: Wrap his sorry corpse in a pig skin and bury him in a lard filled coffin, as that is the most efficient way to insure that he never sets foot in whatever promised land he thinks is awaiting him.

Cruel, maybe, but I'm feeling a bit vengful when it comes to Bin Laden.

She's just trying to make the most horrible retribution she can think of for bin laden. The Koran forbids eating pork.

Don't know if it forbids the use of pork products if you're not eating it.

I don't know either, but it reminds me of what caused the Indian Mutiny of 1857.

Quote:
Against this backdrop of uneasiness the mutiny erupted in 1857. But the spark was interestingly not so much of religious clashes, but the grease used in the new Enfield rifle. The cartridge of the Enfield rifle was heavily greased -- with animal fat, to facilitate easier loading into the muzzle. Rumors began to circular among Sepoys that the grease was a mixture of cow (sacred to Hindus) and pig (abhorrent to Moslems) fat. As such, biting such a cartridge would break the caste of the Hindu sepoys and defile the Moslems. Their British officers realized their mistake and changed the grease to beeswax or vegetable oils, but in the atmosphere of distrust, the mutiny seemed inevitable.

It is usually interpreted that way. (Thus stories about desecration of Muslim corpses by laying strips of bacon on them).

However, such "punishment" assumes the individual is in fact a devout Muslim, rather than an egotistical, self-serving, maniacal asshat.
