Thanks for reviving this thread Chocolatl; clearly I was wrong when I advised TomJonze about the tattoo pic thread.

Your tat and your story are cool.

Picture's a bit wonky, but this tattoo is my only one so far. It's on my left foot. It is the stars that are in the corner of each page in the American editions of the Harry Potter series. I got it July 31st, 2011 -- Harry Potter's birthday. (How's that for nerdy?) I got it to remind myself of my two favorite quotes from the series, and to celebrate the role the books played in my relationship with my brother. I taught him to read by reading him the first five books aloud when he was a kid. He got the same tattoo on his shoulder the following summer.
It's quite unfair of you to bring this up without telling us the quotes.

D'oh! Sorry -- I must've spaced out.

that's a hell of an upgrade TomJonze! and what a great job you did with the composite picture. I can still see the remnants of the original black swirl now lime green. that's a good looking tattoo!

I'm sure I had a pic of my tattoo somewhere on here, but I haven't been able to find it using search.

It's a strawberry. My friends at school called me Cherry Berry, and I've always felt connected to anything berrylicious (like Sundaes!)

It's on my lower back. What Infi calls a tramp stamp. But when I got it, I wanted it somewhere that people would not see it unless I chose to show it. Low rider jeans were still in the future then. And in truth I've never worn them, having too much belly fat to make them look anything but grim. Ditto a bikini. I think my last one was when I was about seven.

I'm sure I've told this before, but I wanted a tattoo from the age of 18. My bf at the time told me to wait a year - if I still wanted one then, at least I knew I was committed for life. I did still want one then - and we're talking 1991. The only female I knew with a tattoo was a millionaire's daughter. I was well jeal.

I still love it. I'm still so happy I had it. I'm the reason Mum had hers. It's on her bum so no-one except Dad ever sees it. It has his name on it... When she retired from the Police her leaving present was vouchers for the parlour close to the Police Station because she'd talked about getting one for all the years I'd had mine. Bless.

Now I want a strawberry! We are, after all, 2/3 of the Strawberry Festival Queens.

You really should! I'm not sure about Infi (getting one I mean, not whether she's a Strawberry Festival Queen because she still is - it's a lifetime commitment.)

Make plans.
We'll start a fund.
Getting to meet eachother is damned expensive. Getting a tattoo for you is more approachable.

Please note the discolouration in skin tone is not due to liver damage (for once!) it's just a result of the light/ flash.

i didnt do the composite. the artist, sarah grossman in san jose, did. she's pretty rad at that stuff. i have a similar theme she will soon be inking to the other arm as i'm a huge fan of simmetry. instead of chick/wolf/harvest moon its going to be dude/hawk(or falcon or eagle)/sun theme.

thanks for the compliment. she's a great friend and a hell of an artist. rather new at tattooing too. she's only been doing it for 3 or 4 years.

She was obviously an accomplished artist before she started inking. Outstanding job.
