Clothes you used to think were cool (illustrated)
I think this is a fine time to bring up our personal fashion horrors from times past.

I wore tuffskins when I was a kid. You know the jeans with the big-ass knee patches? I was teased big time.
I bought parachute pants when I got old enough to buy my own clothes, I finally wised up, got married and now I wear what I am told. I am a handsome man, not sure how I look tho.

i wore the same shirt 2 years in a row for school pictures once. It was a new shirt, but my mom had gotten another one because she liked it, and forgot that I had worn it the year before. pretty funny.
I not only had tough skins, I had Garanimals. Yeah, baby, yeah! And at one point, I had an entire outfit of Dallas Cowboys clothes. socks, sneakers, underwear, jeans with a helmet on the pocket, a shirt, sweatshirt,a jacket, mittens and a knit hat.

I had a T-shirt that said "Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here"
And then the phrase became popular for a while and the shirt was hack and no longer clever. |

Much to the chagrin of practically every female in my life, I have less than zero interest in flashy dressing. So I don't have any past fashion disasters to apologize for. My mom despaired at my choice of a plain black tuxedo for the prom when light blue and taupe (think Ben Stiller in "There's Something About Mary") were all the rage for tuxes.
I now have a suit and a couple sport coats that I drag out for special occasions when needed, and my tuxedo for concerts. But beyond that I pretty much wear khakis and button-down shirts, with occasional jeans and tshirts. Mrs. Dallas considers it insufferably boring, but it means I don't have to think about what I wear and that's how I like it. |

jeans with a chinamen collar button down and a vest.
and a woven leather belt. I was a child of the 80's coming of age in the 90's. It was not a pretty time to be clothed. -sm |

I'm hoping everyone else is too young to remember Nehru jackets & fruit-boots...

Hey, I had one of those Baja pullovers! Man, I was the shit when I wore that thing back in the day. The chicks would come running, and I -- well -- I would have no idea what to do.
