Probably not much differently than it'd feel about a 1/4 lb. hamburger.

Are you implying they made this grotesque burger merely because 'it was there'?

The Big Bob's Texas Belt Buster
Well my 2 cents worth, I Bob, owner of the Bob's BBQ & Grill which produced this world record burger am from Houston Texas. If you read the history of this burger on our website it tells about the reasons we did this "I wanted to bring the record to where it belongs, Texas. I still consider myself a Texan and proud of it. Everything is bigger in Texas. I did open the restaurant to provide some good BBQ here in Thailand but still maintain residence in the USA.

I must say Denny was the first and I congradulate him on his acheivments but the bigger his burgers have got the more awful they look. It is a fact that the burger above in the picture from Denny's would not qualify for the record and is why he never got it to beat Fuddruckers. Guinness regulations state that the burger has to resemble a real scaled up burger with a top and bottom bun. Also it can not be made up of multiple pieces put together like meat and bun. Just look at the difference between our burger and Denny's There is no comparison.

By the way why can't it come from Thailand? After all it is the WORLD record.

I can assure you the burger was completely eaten by the children of the Bann Jing Jai Orphanage. And we have sold 2 more for large parties. Please visit the pictures page. I will not post any links as not to upset the mods on my first post but I'm sure you can find it with the above link to our site.

So the point was to whore your fast food joint. Your pride is misplaced if you feel this is the image you want the rest of the world to associate with America (sorry Texas)

Even more pointless then IMO.

P.S. Why are you trying to sell that crap in Thailand? Thai food has provided some the most sublime and sensual culinary ideas to the world, why try and compete with this stodge?

EDIT : to add image seeing as it's an IotD thread ;-)

Before you go calling it crap, I think we should get the opinion of the orphans of Bann Jing Jai.

And welcome, TucsonTom!

First of all your mind is in the gutter we are not trying to do anything but have a respectable restaurant. We have been doing large burgers here just like Denny since we opened. Why does anyone compete? To win!!

And for the PS you answered your own question. For the same reasons that Thai Food has made it's impact around the world we are doing the same in Thailand. Not so much with the big burger but in general with authenic American cusine and slow smoked BBQ. We were the second restaurant of our kind to open in the entire country of Thailand. I love Thai food so, I'm sorry but I don't see your point. Just as you may like Thai food, many Thai's here like the American food. Someone brought the Thai food to America and someone had to bring it to Thailand. And yes the burger was actually quite tasty, far from your incinuations.

Why do we need to ask them for my opinion, unless you prefer to hear received opinions. They're probably dead from coronary thrombosis anyway.

The poor local orphan angle doesn't wash with me I'm afraid, it smacks of conscience cleansing.

Ah sprog, you didn't grow up with a clown selling you these things but have a bit of fun with your food. The orphans ate it, that's good enough for me.

The image gallery is here

Well done Bob exporting the idea of burgers to the world. I take back the statement that the record has to be an American one. I would like to visit your place sometime. (Of course I would also like to visit Denny's and he is only 5 hours drive away so it's possible.)
