No, here in suburban Orange County, California, we don't have bears. Occasionally, we do have mountain lions, though, and plenty of coyotes.

Went to the zoo today. It was cool because I've been going there for about 20 years, and finally saw orangutans using a special cable highway that was built for them. It connects their house to another location in the zoo. They are so high up that they won't try to drop and escape. The cable highway takes them outside of their cages.
