Feb 7th, 2017: 33 Club
To get to the 33 Club you must go down Royale Street to the emerald doorway(Green Door heh heh), then
buzz in on the concealed intercom. You take the red carpeted grand staircase or the French lift to the first main bar area for a cocktail. You must be a member, and you must have reservations. You can apply for membership but that usually takes at least a year. Interested, but don't know where Royale St is? Disneyland, CA. Club 33 Le Salon Nouveau is a mahogany bar area and currently the only place that serves hard liquor inside the park. Throughout the club are props used by Disney, such as a table from Mary Poppins, and moving pictures from the Haunted Mansion ride. The quirky decor of each room has its own special name. In the main dining room guests can enjoy a plated dinner. For the 6 course meal, you may pay up to $150 USD per plate. The Disneyland Dream Suite is a 2,200-sq-ft (200 m2) luxury apartment in the New Orleans Square area, above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, open to Club 33 members. Walt enlisted set designer Dorothea Redmond, famous for creating the sets in Gone with the Wind. The Dream Suite includes a living room, open-air patio, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The only way a Club 33 member can stay there is by knowing someone up high in the Disney Corp, being a movie star, or winning a night. 33 Club has seen many A-listers and some US Presidents. Rumored members have been Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Elizabeth Taylor, and Tom Hanks. So if you want to hang with the biggies, and can wait a year for membership, it will cost you $25,000 to join and $12,000 a year. link

Anyone else see stylized Mickey faces in the main logo?
The exclusive and expensive concept as manifested in the 33 Club shows the slippery that characterized every thing Disney touched. He was not a very nice man. |

I saw them. I disagree about Walt being a nice man. He tried to succeed by making people happy against ruthless competition. 33 Club was just another plan to make people on a different strata happy. He planned the apartment but it was shelved when he died. Corporate revived the plan later.
The deal with Florida to build Disney World disconnected them from local jurisdictions so they could do anything they wanted including build their own Nuclear power plant. But they didn't out of concern for people.
