Harry Potter Books

Anyone here read them?

I read all 6 so far, and enjoyed them. I hope she takes a break after the 7th book and comes back to write 7 more.

she's gonna kill Harry Potter off.

I mean, yep, I been through all the books.
.. The movies butcher the books.
They could have taken each book and made a tv series/season to do justice to the chapters she wrote.

Yep, I read them all. I found #5 very tedious, but I liked all the others.

I agree, Harry doesn't seem like a good bet to survive the next one.

Irrespective of what Rowling wants, there is so much money involved that somebody will find a way to do more stuff with the franchise after it's "over" with book 7.

I agree, #5 was the worst (too much dating, teenage angst, and Harry being a baby). #4 and #6 were my favorites.

I only like the movies because my brain fills in the parts they left out. I feel bad for people that think seeing the movie is as good as reading the book.

I think *the character that died* is coming back in the last book. What do you think?

I don't think so. JKR gives an interesting interview here. A number of hints are dropped. Nothing stated outright, but lots implied.

Regarding another point in the interview - anyone who couldn't see all the way back in book one that Ron and Hermione end up together weren't paying attention. Likewise Harry and Ginny from book two at least.

By the way, JKR has an interesting site here. Worth visiting from time to time.

I don't know if it's still there but a couple years back I went there to see if there was any news on the release of #6 and she had a posting about visiting a Harry Potter chat room. As I recall she said she understood why nobody would buy that she was the real JK Rowling and wasn't offended by that, but she did request that the fans stop referring to He Who Must Not Be Named as "Voldy."
