I don't know that it's necessarily comforting to find out that we aren't the only ones with a left wing media bias.

The French are certainly more up front about it, though.

Last popularity poll after burning events in suburbs :

Nicolas Sarkozy (+11%)

Dominique de Villepin (+7%).
Jacques Chirac (+6%)

Add some other cars and French will be able to vote Bush. :p

Well, I'll tell you: at first glance I've got a lot more sympathy for Sarkozy than for the rioters -- for I have NEVER liked rioters in democratic societies.

Torture and Death of Jew Deepen Fears in France

"I knew they had someone down there," said a young French-Arab man, loitering in the doorway of a building adjacent to the one where Mr. Halimi was held. He claimed to live upstairs from the makeshift dungeon but would not give his name or say whether he knew then that the man was a Jew. "I didn't know they were torturing him," he said. What the hell did this quoted individual *think* was going on? A little harmless B&D play?

Good thing this is in France. I mean, it isn't like this little incident is about anything important, such as truffles or grape prices.
