Livin on the Edge

Melonie and I took a trip to London on Sunday to see the line up for Hyde Park Calling. We were very lucky to get to the front row of the main stage. I had only heard of one of the bands playing, but that did not stop me enjoying the music.

The first band of interest were some boys from New York called Arckid I was impressed. "I'll Stick Around" is particularly catchy. Check them out.

Quickly followed by The Answer an energetic band from Ireland. Mel was smitten with the lead singer.

I missed Jet as I queued for the toilets! But I am assured that they were wicked.

Penultimately Chris Cornell performed. For those of you who don't know who he is - he used to be the lead singer for Soundgarden. To be honest, he was a nice bloke, but the only song I enjoyed was "Black Hole Sun".

Finally, on came the reason for attending. The legendary Aerosmith! They were awesome. These guys are three times my age and in much better shape. Enough chitter chatter, here are some pictures:

Thoroughly good day out. And finally, please do check out these bands ( I have provided links so don't be lazy) I think you will agree they are awesome.

Never heard of the first two bands, but I like Jet and Aerosmith a lot. I adore Chris Cornell. What a great lineup!

I saw Aerosmith a few years ago, when KISS was touring with them--it was fantastic. Chris Cornell will be back in Philly this fall; I really hope I get to see him.
