I chop my hair off too when I go through stuff sometimes. And I will go from really LONG to really short. I hope I don't ever do that again, because I always regret it. I'm glad it has been a good experience for you though.

And when things get bad, just try to remember, this too shall pass.

If you ever do chop off your long hair again, please remember to donate it to Locks of Love or someplace similar. The make wigs for kids with cancer etc.

In my case, I could not... they want unprocessed hair only, and mine was so dry, with split ends and over processed it was no good. Its a great cause though, a friend of mine got donations for diabetes to cut his hair, then donated it. 2 causes one day....

I've done that twice. It helps with the "Oh my god why did I do that!!??" feeling.

That's great Tiki. I'm sure you've made someone's life a little better!

The only reason I know about this is that one of the darlets has a friend who does this on a regular basis. Grows her hair out to the necessary length then chops it off and starts over. I think she's donated three times now.

I had a "I feel like cutting my hair today" meltdown once, and asked my roommate (who claimed to have experience cutting hair) to do it for me. She was supposed to cut off about 2 inches. All of a sudden I heard a sharp gasp, and my repeated and increasingly frantic "Heather, what did you do!?"s were met with responses like "Nothing!" and "I can fix it!" Lo and behold, she had cut off about a 6 inch lock of hair right towards the front, so I ended up having to trim the rest of it to make it even. Turned out it actually looked kind of cute.

Glad to hear yours turned out okay! Can't wait to see it.
