4/5/2005: Toner mouse

Snopes says this one is unverified, but you gotta admit, it's not inconceivable. I've gone into offices in downtown areas where there were loads of mice, where going to the network wiring closet was an "iffy proposition". One guy in one place told me that they couldn't keep creamers around for their coffee, because the mice learned to chew through the top to get at the liquid inside. No word whether they required the true cream or whether the non-dairy creamer was sufficient.

My last workplace was infested with rats and weasels.

I have mouse turds on my desk and in my desk drawers every day. I certainly isn't inconceivable that, if someone maybe dribbled a few crumbs in a printer, that a meece might be nosing around in it when it started printing.

Bzzzzzzztt!!

*sniff* *SHNIFF* whew!

Yah. Happens. Had this page of the cellar open when my copier tech was present. showed him. he said, oh yeah. And the old ones that had serious drivetrains, with chains and gears and big ol' (warm) power supplies, caught this poor beast's poor cousin and ground him into goo.

blech.

Worked fine after a serious decontamination.

Snoozing Rat

My wife and I live in a warehouse in Toronto. Mice are common, but rats are not. We saw one, and it seemed to be using our bathroom sink as a watering hole. Leaky faucet...my bad. So occasionally a mouse dies in a wall, gets stinky for a couple of days, and if it's a small one, goes away quickly. The staink started, and we hoped for a quick small stink. Lasted a few days, but was wafting so we figgured...better than full on stink. My wife one day looked at our dog Taco (little dog) and asked where the rat was. He went under the couch, and came back out again. Repeated it twice. Looked under the couch, and there was dead rat boy! About half the size of our dog. So probably 4-5 lb rat.

"our" fox came up on the deck this morning. We looked at each other through the sliding glass door for about 10 seconds. Couldn't get to a camera in time to share though.

as you were.

Only a battle, not the war.
