Hmmmm. Yes, I do recall an encounter. I think Robbie was mean to him. I think Dr. Smith was an allegory for our bad side, as "there's a little Dr. Smith in all of us."

I suspect a lot of the time Will was trying to avoid getting a little more Dr. Smith in him than he was ready to deal with. But Mom and Dad kept sending them off together.

always a little creepy that way.. kinda like they always sent fred and daphne off together and then the rest of the show was centered on scooby/shaggy/velma.. hmmm.... oh! by the by! say (out loud) "scooby dooby do" backwards (just the words.. not the letters gives a little insight into the whole show..and sorry if this is old hat as such)

I watched Scooby stoned one time. Didn't do anything for me.

Now, Sesame Street.... there's some messed up stuff on that show.

Ah thinking back on cartoons of the 70's......

Speed Racer (Speed, Trixie, Spritle and Chim Chim)
....That in itself is a joke waiting for this board.

Aqua-man and Aqua boy? (rode around on sea horses?)

Space Ghost

Huckleberry Hound, EL-KaBONG (I mean HELLO), Snagglepus, Precious Pup

Josie and the Pussy Cats

Grape Ape

Magilla Gorilla (Gorilla Biscuits)

HR Puffenstuff.....(Puffen WHAT stuff?)

The Banana Splits (Fleagle, Drooper, Snorkey, and the Orangutang)

Look at the names.....I Think the creators were all smoking 'something' when they named these shows....

Even Romper Room......had the Do-bee.......

Not to mention Spinner and Paddlefoot.

And Scott McCloud, Crystal and Taurus... Space Angel used the same technique.

What a coincidence... I'm about 5 pages into this. (This was not through any recommendation or review, but "let's dig through the science fiction section at the library and see if anything I haven't read looks interesting.")

An all time favorite.... and though I've liked the Chalion books well enough (as have Hugo voters!) I despair of ever seeing another Vorkosigan book. Though I can certainly understand why she wants to leave it where it is now.

I read it shortly after it was published...and read Red Lightning as soon as I saw it mentioned on BoingBoing. Cory Doctorow naturally put a political spin on it that didn't quite match up with the actual story; I was happy to get to the end and discover it wasn't what Cory was spinning it as.

Yes, the story of Miles is pretty much done. Although bearing in mind that it began with Cordelia...

But that's an important feature of the style: Interstellar Hornblower a la Tom Clancy.. You've seen the Honorverse strategy game, no?

Clearly superior to its predecessor, Fireball XL-5...except maybe for the theme music.
