Bizarre, but I'm sure it's hard to come up with different "national dress" every year. If memory serves me right, we've had girls dress up as the statue of Liberty before.

NASCAR was my first thought too, along with WTF. But then I got thinking about it and the hundred of thousands, if not millions, of Americans that are involved in racing. SCCA, NHRA, AHRA, Outlaws, local tracks and motorcycles. In that light it made more sense. But I agree on the helmet.
