Probably a really stupid question

Okay, so, you know if you hit BACKSPACE on your keyboard, you go to the last page you visited. My question is this:

Is there a way to go FORWARD in, for example, a 490+ page thread posted on some message boards? I have a Logitech G15 keyboard, right? Really nice one, and I can make macros for the special keys on it. Is there a way I can designate G18 as the "FORWARD A PAGE" key, please? PLEASE?!

I would be deeply obliged if someone could come up with this. Thank you very much!

Sak

I am going to take a wild guess that there is some supporting software that comes with the keyboard that allows you to map whatever function to whatever F key you want...?

The 'back' key maps to the last entry in your browser's history (regardless of your keyboard!) It would be very hard indeed for any browser to figure out which of the myriad links on a given page correspond to 'Next'. Sorry!

Actually, what I want is a "pre-load next" option.

Say I'm browsing lolcats, and it takes a good five or ten seconds to load each page. (I know, the tedium, hardly worth the bother, isn't it?) Then I spend maybe a minute giggling at each page, then load the next and wait.

I want an option that, as soon as one page has displayed, I can identify the next page, get it to download all that, but keep it on hold until I am done viewing the present page, then when I am ready, a single click and SHAZZAM! there is my next page all ready to display immediately, and I can order the subsequent page to pre-load.

Any of you code monkeys reckon you can hack that? UT, could you make money out of it?

ETA: or, um, maybe someone could tell me how many versions of it already exist.

Use this browsing method:

1. Use Firefox
1.5 Turn off tab option "when I open a new tab switch to it immediately"
2. Ctrl-click on links to "pre-load" them -- in tabs
3. When done reading current tab, hit ctrl-W to close it. New tab opens with content you have pre-loaded in the background.

FWIW, automatic preloading of links on the same page has been attempted since 1998. It has never really worked.

A G15 keyboard goes up to G18? Why is it not a G18 keyboard?

At least it's louder than 11.

To go back a page, I use the back button. Clever, huh?

umm...yeah. I think I may have heard it somewhere in the past and it just kind of floated through my head and back out again without leaving much impression.

why would I need to know that? When I'm browsing, I'm using my mouse, not my keyboard. Plus I like to burn my bridges! Real Intrepid Internet Explorers never go Back!
