Read the thread, followed the thread, re-read the thread...

It's clear to me that I'm still outside, not inside, new-guy, not written in the cellar's history books yet. I'm not complaining or being maudlin (shut off those damn violins!), but got a taste from this thread of the depth of the community here. Depths I have not plumbed.

I am excluded from those depths, not because I am shut out by anyone in this group, but because I have kept much about myself to myself. With respect to the start of this thread, all I have written about myself is true. But much more truth is unwritten.

I understand that there's a natural give and take in learning about one another. Give a little, get a little, etc. Not that there's anything natural about this forum. Well, not natural to my experience. An old fart like me has become accustomed to relying on inputs not present in this situation to help me form my opinion. Sight is one, voice, regularity of habits, etc. All these and more have analogues on this forum, an avatar, a way of writing, etc. But these don't map directly to my real life expectations. And, as this thread illustrates, they are easily counterfeited. Pseudonyms are not an internet phenomenon. For the record, I look very little like my avatar.

There are advantages too. In some ways this is a richer experience. I have explored the links of some member's homepages. I've seen images and read writings and tried to incorporate those pieces of the puzzle into the whole of my fellow cellar-mates. I also like the nature of the dialogue in written form. There's a certain deliberateness to it that rewards careful thought. It's not required, but it is nice to be able to savor something well written.

I don't know y'all in "real life". And except for the bounty hunters and crackerjack computer forensic pros in the group, you don't know me. *sigh* That's ok. I'm in my comfort zone, mostly. And I'm stretching it where it chafes.

Yes, I too ended a brief hiatus in order to cheer Ms. Brianna on through her difficulties. She's a very cool chick, isn't she?

Anyway, you've got some seriously big cajones admitting all this to Cellar members. Very impressive!

Welcome to the Cellar!

garnet!

I was ready to quit the cellar for good and for true, until I was talked into coming back by someone very dear to me. I created another moniker so I could post relatively anonymously for awhile, but after 1 or 2 uses I felt cheap, and like a liar, and decided that if I was going to post, it was going to be as me, and fuck em if they don't like it.

Now here I am, firmly entrenched, laid bare to the world as OnyxCougar, and this is the real me. My naivete is thinking that all people are honest, even in this most anonymous of places. The truth seems to be that while some may be honest, more are not.

Live and learn.

Maybe "have a cow" but not "eat a cow"...haha!

Naw, I wouldn't say I'm skinny. In my Cellar absence I've been spending some quality time at the gym. If I do say so myself, my triceps ands abs are looking quite lovely!

But don't worry, I'll try to keep the "dikey-ness" to a minimum!

That was great.

So, with your title, are you a No Doubt fan also?

I look but don't touch, and don't flirt at work. But...

There are several beautiful young women at work that are No Doubt fans, and I get to talk with them a lot more because of this. It's not such a bad deal.

And I briefly met a new hire that was stunning. Recently, she closed an email reply to me saying that she heard I *loved* gwen stefani like she did. I wouldn't mind speaking with her the next time I'm in the office (about once a month).
