First aid

Do you guys have any site that will help with first aid?

For example, I got an oil burn this weekend. It isn't too bad, but it is starting to dry and hurt. I bought two types of pads, two types of gauze and tape to figure out how to wrap it so I can keep it moist (ech) and also not rubbing on anything.

It would be nice to be able to look this stuff up, but when I did, I didn't find anything helpful.

Currently, I have two non-stick pads wrapped with stick to itself gauze. The pads keep moving, so I think I should have taped them down. I think the stick to itself gauze is a little too rough because I have one spot right below where my wrist bends and it hits every once in a while.

Tomorrow, I am going to try the other pads (uber fluffy) taped loosely down with regular gauze. Hopefully it is strong enough to hold up to my day.

Get some calendula ointment and keep it in your kitchen. Put it on the burn right away. It hurts more for a few seconds, but then feels much better. Re-apply as needed to keep the skin from drying out.

For minor stuff we use betadine ointment (povidone iodine, 10%).

It lets air in to the wound, and it's ok to wrap with gauze, or whatever.

And it works wonders on minor burns.

Never too late.

And for the pain get Burnjel Plus. It's got the most Lidocaine of any OTC ointment.
