You want a comment, I'll give you a comment.
Good cause, no question.
Therapeutic for those involved, highly likely.
Good art, I don't like it.

I was watching a state based news program the other night. The story was about a couple who had lost one of their children to a very long illness which involved long hospital stays. They'd decided to raise money for a room so that parents and families could be with their terminally ill child in the hospital in a comfortable environment instead of perched on the bed in the ward/sleeping in an armchair. The couple concerned felt that when their child was in hospital, it helped him and his siblings a lot to express themselves through art, so as a by-product of their fundraising, they now pay for an art therapist.

We have something called The Ronald McDonald House. They are privately funded (started by the hamburger people) and supported by charitable donations. I know that CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) has one, and they are all over the country. Not sure if they exist everywhere there are McDonald's restaurants, though.

There is one here, but the accommodation (here at least) is outside the hospital for families who live in the country. I think the difference here is that the room I referred to in the previous post is so that the family can stay overnight with their child, rather than have to leave them alone at night. Will investigate further.

The hospital rooms in this city all come with a fold-out couch bed thing. They have matte-vinyl-covered cushions like dorm furniture, but with sheets and blankets it's actually pretty comfortable.

yup, still there

Now will only work for out 1/30th of women. You need do it at the same point in your cycle and compare with what you remember from last time, paying attention to anything that feels new, different or odd. It's not all about lumps. Boobs are naturally lumpy.

Although as I understand it, the current thinking in the medical profession is that self examination is not necessarily a good thing as women often miss subtle changes and are lured into a false sense of security because they self-examine, so don't go to the doctor as often as the hould and what they missed has longer to fester.

Regarding the art thing.... Meh. Lots of people use good causes as a medium to push work that is otherwise commercially unsaleable Its not the best, but its for a good cause so someone will buy it and I'll be a commercial artist. It's a portfoio/resume thing.

Regarding the charity thing ....Breast Cancer Awareness is the new Starving Children in Africa. Boobs are cute and innocent, eveyone loves boobs, they don't contain shit like colons, they don't smell like homeless people...... Great star to hitch your wanne-be-known-for-my-charity-work wagon to. And a month of pink shit? Overkill. A day would suffice. A week if you must. But a whole month every year? Who is not yet aware of the stupid stinking nasty fuckroach of a disease? A whole month of breast cancer awareness and pink shit serves to make it easier to ignore. White noise. Too much dilution.

Howzat?

Yep, thought so, you prefered it when I said nothing.
