i love to munchkin. i'll jot down gear/class/ability combinations to try while i'm at work then rush home to see if they work the way i think they might. comes from years of playing type II and drafting, i think.
thinking of new combos and trying them out is the best part of any rpg/mmo/ccg for me. Last edited by sullage; 08-24-2011 at 04:19 PM. Reason: clarity |

I liked what monster said--fighting is just numbers.

I sound like a real hardcore gamer, huh?
I like fantasy football and shit too (UK football, not US) -just so long as I can play with numbers. I don't care who actually did what -if I need to know the ins and outs of the actual action, I'm not interested so much..

combat can be suuuuuuper simple.
rock paper scissors. or look at Risk. roll d6s, ties to the defender. you can make it infinitely complex, and there is a diminishing return pretty close to the Risk model, for me. I like to play for the stories. The books, the dice, the miniatures they were all just the bones to hang the meat of the story from. Keep me posted, I'd love to play with you.

Barbarians of Lemuria (in the Conan rpg folder) is particularly good if you're lookin' for rules-light examples. |
