How to properly post image of the day?

Hi,

I have posted exactly one image of the day. I thought that it would go into some sort of queue, and show up later. To my horror, it went live right away, and blotted out the existing image for that day.

How is this properly done? I don't want to step on anyone's toes again.
Thanks!

We don't really have a proper way. For a long time I was the only one allowed to post, and so people (mostly Bruce) would send me things, and I would manually queue them. Now it's a free-for-all and anyone can post there, but we do go back and unattach the attachments and fix the date Subject, etc.

For people who post regularly I have created an image uploader tool, but otherwise, I guess we would ask that you really think about whether something is mind-boggling enough to be IotD. Then post as well as possible wrt the Subject, etc. and avoid copying large images wholesale if we could get into copyright trouble. If you're not sure, send it to Bruce or myself as a suggestion, and if we don't post it, put it into Quality Images.

That's pretty good but it's not a baby, pgymy, AND albino!

So many years of IotD.

No need. The little guy likes bacon so I fed him lots of it. That went ok but now he's being very difficult about the stick.

Do you think Grave realizes that every time he's in trouble, he's in "grave danger"?

It's a scary world, my friend.

On the other hand, you should be good at making grave decisions.
