It works great for that.

you can get a whole new number that always goes straight to voicemail.

then you can listen to it from your computer or your phone, or try to decipher the speech to text text message it will send you.

I love it. I read all my voicemails. Got one th other day that only said "Celebrate charcoal". No idea... Don't really care....
