Mozilla Firefox

I am using this now on my PBG4.

This seems to be a good degree faster than Safari, and definately a bit easier to install (drag Icon to Applications and then drag icon to dock, and replace Firefox with Homsar icon).

I'm also using this with Windows 2000 on the laptop.

Has anyone else had this good an experience with a browser upgrade?

That the Adobe SVG6 beta works well as a plug in helps all too much.

My only complaint is that the new version didn't pick up my 0.7 plugins (Flash, etc.) and I had to reinstall them manually, but I'm not prepared to say that it may not have been my fault.

I have managed to convert a few people with this version, and all in all, I'm terribly pleased with it.

Pretty happy with Firefox...hope they can stick with a name for longer than 2 releases this time. Its a lot leaner than Mozilla, and beats the pants off of IE. I'll have to give it a shot on my Mac, but I've been pretty happy with Safari so far.

I don't think that is an error with FireFox -- it sounds like the server doesn't have its Mimetypes configured correctly. IE automatically corrects a lot of HTML and server config errors by understanding how to display them.

Try going to MS's site with Firefox and browsing through KB articles -- they look like total shit compared to viewing them on IE. Why? Firefox is displaying the code just fine, MS has just coded it to not match HTML/XML standards.

Think that might be on purpose? Naaaah!

I currently run Firebird 0.7 and it works great but Firefox is giving me a problem. When I try to run Firefox I get a dialog box that says this:

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location chrome://navigator/content/navigator.xul
Line Number 46, Column 1

The program won't start it just gives the above compiler error code. I could neither find the undefined entity in question or find any information on the Firefox website. My knowledge of XML is sketchy at best. Does anyone know what it means?

Any luck on the Mac? I had 5 crashes with 0.8 in the first half hour of use -- I had to go back to 0.7. (I use Firefox on my PC at work with no troubles at all, pretty much the same sites.)

Well, I'm sure there'll be a 0.8.1 release soon for the Mac crowd. Maybe I should volunteer as a tester.

Try asking here [mozillazine]. They've been able to help me with a couple 'o esoteric problems I've been having. Although a quick search of their site didn't reveal any exact maches to your error, if you post a description of the problem, you'll probably get at least one helpful answer (and 15 non-helpful ones, but hey, it's free...)

That seems to make sense but it didn't work. I even tried deleting the extra themes but to no avail. I'll try posting on the Firefox forums and see if they know.

I remember, back when I was trying to figure things out with Windows 2000, that IE totally screwed up on their online help files at microsoft.com. The only way I could extract useful information was with Mozilla.
