Secession!

Here's an interesting article from the Washington Times : http://washingtontimes.com/national/...2753-5113r.htm

Rather than move to Canada, there are some residents of the "Blue States" who want to BECOME Canada! It's as though 150 years after the Civil War the northern states are saying to the South, "Come to think of it, you guys had a good idea! See you around."

Marichiko, hmmm.....Washington Post editorial? Really not what I think my home state has in mind. Don't you think this idea may be stirring up more trouble than it's worth? How practical do you think this is?

Oh, boo-hoo. How utterly childish and inane can you get? Sounds like "if I can't have it my way I'm taking my vote and going to start a new home".

I've lived in a 'blue state' and faithfully paid taxes my whole life to support people living on the dole in the 'red states'. I say go ahead and find a better country to live in if you don't like the results of this election but I'd never vote to have this country split up.

...and take Alec Baldwin wih you.

I merely posted this snippet for interest. Practical? Probably not. Desirable? Hmmm... The idea does have a certain bizarre charm.

Sounds like a good idea no matter if you are from a blue or a red state.

And their are "some residents" of the blue states(red too) that think they are reborn flying aardvarks.
Some "guy" gets an wacky idea and to make it worthy of an article, the "guy" becomes "some residents".
In this case the "guy" was as wacked out as the people Slang was listening to before the election. :p

Before anyone deals with this nonsense, a plan will have to be developed for the 'red state' folks living in 'blue states' ... and vice versa.

There is already a plan in place, vigilantes.
Hell, even MA has 1,067,163 scoundrels (including my brother) to divest.

We'll also have to remember that most voting age Americans didn't vote for either of the asshat party candidates. How about if all Dummycrats move to Mass and all Repugnants pick a Carolina. Leave the rest of us out of your fantasies.

Washington Times, not the Post. One of several right wing papers that is run at a loss just to promote their agenda.

I've wanted to take a short holiday in Canada for a while but it's such a long drive and plane fare is intolerable and I'm not even sure if there's a rail option. If those folks join Canada, that'll move the Canadian border that much closer to me!

Unfortunately, the friends I'd go to visit would still be just as far away...dang.
