Attn Queenslanders, or whatever you call yourselves,... my niece-in-common-law is headed your way, apparently to Cairns, QLD in a volunteer conservation effort... for her honeymoon... to restore habitat for, and measure the length of, tree frogs.

I say she should restore habitat for undertoads here at home, my siding is in real trouble, but the tree frogs are important too.

Right now: my Chinese take away has arrived *hops up and down in excitement*

I'm starting with won ton soup, followed by honeyed spare ribs, then some beef chop suey with egg fried rice, and banana fritters in syrup to finish

[eta] the won ton soup is divine. And QI is about to start! What's more the adorable David Mitchell is in it this week. Big smile.

I usually just have some of everything and the rest go in the fridge for next day. i just couldn't stop eating the soup and ribs :P So, have only saved chop suey and rice.

Linguistic question here ... do you still call it take away when it's delivered? For us there is a distinction between Chinese Take Out (picked up at the restaurant) and Chinese Delivery (the Yellow Peril brings it to your door).

Why don't the Chinese use potatoes in their food?

Doesn't that make it "chinese delivery"?

Just realized the question has already been asked. However, it has yet to be answered. So I'll leave this as a bump.

Any hot food made for you is a take-away, whether you take it away yourself or get it delivered.
So this covers pizza, Indian, Chinese and some small sundry shops (I can get fried chicken and fish & chips and even doner kebabs delivered here as I'm only a mile from the town centre)

Some people may distinguish I suppose.
But they're the sort of people that call geraniums pelargonians and therefore it's safe to ignore them.
