Officer shoots and kills a man who was beating a woman with a hammer:

http://www.whiotv.com/news/23260066/detail.html

Only thing better would have been if he had first shot him in the dick, let him bleed out for a while, then shot him in the face.

I hope that officer gets the highest of commendations.

It's probably a routine formality, especially if there were differing skin colors. Just my guess.

My wife's Mini's speedo goes to 160mph. I took it to 115 and it was not pegged. That was fast enough. It made me happy to know it has more in there.

From the link:

They said officers ordered the 25-year-old man to stop beating the woman and was shot one time in the chest when he refused.
Well done, officer. When you have a moment, could you administer a beat-down to the sub-editor who allowed that last sentence to get through?

You're surprised? Any time under any circumstances an officer shoots someone, he is administratively taken off duty while the whole thing is investigated for its rights and wrongs. It also cools things off for everybody, not least the officer. Who does get paid, and likely gets mandatory counseling too. Not quite a vacation. Damn few who've ever shot anybody claimed it was.
