Longtime lurker, brand new member. Be gentle.

I just wanted to introduce myself, I've been a longtime lurker and wanted to join in. I belong to several other topic-specific forums, and felt that The Cellar would give me a bit of reality with that touch of abnormality I crave.
Hello everyone!

Thank you everyone for the welcome.
My CA girlfriend directed me here to view an Image of the Day and I kept coming back, I was drawn to the 'conversations', witty atmosphere and general good comraderie. Decided just last night to join...I think it was when I finally found a "great" user name to join with. I laugh every time I say it out loud; Hoof Hearted.

Husband and I grew up in California, he in northern and I in the central farming valley. We lived in WA state (high desert, not the rainy side) for two years and moved here to GA 5 years ago following his career in the Power Industry. (Thanks Enron. Plllbbbttt!)

My 'vette is the 78 Silver Anniversary. Hubby bought it over 15 years ago and gave it to me 11 years ago. He gave away MY car (an Olds) without telling me, and to put out my fire, he signed the 'vette into my name. What a trade, huh?
Anyway, I drive it daily except for heavy rain or any snow/ice and it has nearly 250k miles on it. We (hubby and I) rebuilt the engine two years ago so we have near 300hp and about 350ftlbs torque. I love low end torque! Don't like to speed, but I want to get up to the speed limit ASAP with that set-you-back-in-the-seat feeling. Plus, it is just a sweet looking car!

Hi and welcome!

I see three things we have in common, so far. We're both women, you live in GA and I used to live in GA. And you and I both have a Silver Anniversary 'vette. Here's mine:

'Tis my baby!! I had an accident in it and haven't been able to repair the fiberglass and electrical as needed to put it back on the road. Man I miss her.

Stormie, your 78 looks HOT! with the ground effects kit! I want to put an LT spoiler on the back. Waiting for the $...I think I'll be waiting a while. Isn't it amazing the amount of things you have to spend your (husband's) money on FIRST before you can think of getting the things you want?
I think I see the damage on the pass fender? What elec problems did you encounter?
Ibram, when my car goes missing, I'll be on the eleventh floor looking below to catch you cruisin' in my baby!

We love Georgia. The people, the weather and especially (for me) the fireflies. First time I saw a bunch at night in the woods, I froze and almost panicked. I thought they were eye reflections of possums and racoons and that we were surrounded and about to be attacked...until Kenny commented about the 'fireflies'. Almost had to change my panties. (and 'Hoof Hearted' would have been 'Hey!-where-did-all-this-crap-come-from?')

Hello Hoof from the ATL.

Jeez. Women with Vettes. Hard not to look twice when you see that. It seems there are several people from GA in this cellar.

Again, welcome.

I must admit to a perverse pleasure in driving the 'vette and flirting with other drivers. Does that make me a bitch? Or just a little fuel for someones fantasies?
