The minimum bid increment is $100. It's going to take forever to get to the $350,000 that the guy is looking for. At least he can sell it elsewhere if the reserve isn't met.

It definitely is an impressive looking specimen though. I just have nothing to do with it.

paul said that he saw that on some site that said "who would buy that?"

i think that's pretty cool. not something i'd buy for my living room, definitely, but if i were a marine biologist or something, it would probably appeal to me.

Question Buyer pays shipping?

How do they ship this? Will FedEx handle that? And, uh, I wonder if he accepts PayPal??

get a large main room
remove any rooms above it
hang it form the ceiling with skylights above, look pretty cool.

I'm sure fedex would handle it, of course paying for the entire boeing 727 most likely wouldn't be what you would call, affordable.

you'd ship/truck it in a standard 40foot container but it'd still be pretty dman expensive

The description of this exhibit on ebay says that the display was designed to be disassembled for relocation.

well. i know what we could do with all the extra space we will be acquiring in the basement.

*cough*

or not.

this is one of those things that you have to market towards a very specific audience. a very specific wealthy audience.

good luck to the guy though. woner what he will do with all the extra room when he gets rid of that thing. and i wonder how he got it to begin with. its christmas morning and grandma and grandpa come over with a big box, and hes cursed with the damn thing for the next thirty years? heh. (maybe i should actually go and read the info at ebay, eh?)

The Marine Biologist

George: The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soap at a deli! I got about fifty-feet out and then suddenly the great beast appeared before me. I tell ya he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing my presence he gave out a big bellow. I said, "Easy big fella!" And then as I watched him struggling I realized something was obstructing his breathing. From where I was standing I could see directly into the eye of the great fish!

Jerry: Mammal.

George: Whatever.
