RIP to a great man who's service to our nation was admirable and honorable. A double shot at the SCOTUS for GWB. Do you think they'll all (two or three postitions) will be filled by the first Monday in October?

It would be interesting to watch the administration work on confirmation during impeachment.

I dreamed that Roberts was confirmed last night and I didn't care at all.

i think there have been afew justices through the years that have proven it doesn't really matter which POTUS appoints them. that is the whole point of a lifetime appointment.

Wow, I thought Bush would go with a right wing ideologue to shore up his base and take the news coverage away from New Orleans.

Of course, I'm waiting for the shoe to drop on the new replacement for O'Connor. She is more of a moderate than Rehnquist was. Now Bush will dust off the minority and female applicants, providing he can find somebody like Thomas (shudder).
