Unable to access pasword protected USB Drive

I have a TDK Media Trans-It p/w protected USB drive.

Whenever I attempt to unlock it, it says 'Drive is busy, unlock failed, please try later'.

I can't see why the system 'thinks' that the drive is in use, there's nothing apparent, so I'm becoming rather worried.

There's a whole load of financial records on there and it would be a pain in the fundament if the problem persists.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Ta!

Problem solved. I'm not quite sure how, but solved it is!

It's a safety feature, jerk you around until it's sure you're not a transient crook because they wouldn't put up with that shit and move on.
You need a back up to your back up, you could lose that one in a heartbeat.

Yep, backed up the whole drive after access was granted. Phew!

It didn't happen at the best time (Sod's Law) as my car is in an advanced state of knackerdom and a doc's appointment for Dad loomed so attention was divided.

All is now well (I hope) and, having returned home, a mug of tea is at my right hand.

All is right with the world.

Well, almost...

Unfortunately, there seems to be an almost permanent shortage of both at Carruthers Towers!
